Mary Anne & Family,
We were so sorry to hear about Scotty. We were just talking about how you could always hear Scotty's voice when you entered the old arena if he was on the bench. Fond memories. Please accept our condolences.

Played for Scotty's MTHL Champions Leaside Iron Tomahawks 50 years ago. Still have fond memories. Scotty's endorsement helped me get my college education in the U.S. My sympathies to the the family on their loss.

Dear Mary Anne and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Scotty's passing. He was a unique individual with high principles in everything he did. We knew him best as a hockey coach and he was a good one; making certain the boys were looked after and teaching them not only hockey skills but important life skills. Scotty taught by example.
We will toast his life with a Coke!
Our very sincere condolences to you and all your family.

My mom worked with mary anne at markhaven.
When i was a skinny pond hockey, street hockey loving playing kid in rural unionville/markham, my mom signed me up in the unionville house league. Unbeknownesf to me! Lol.
I think i was about about 12.
Which was really late for starting hockey in markham or canada in general in a hockey mad country as it was.
But she did it anyway. Even though i was small and slight.
But she did it for my own good.
Because she knew if nothing else, it would build character.
And it did.
So when mary anne heard this, she told my mom...
Just come by the house....scotty will look after the boy.
And he most certainly did!
He fitted me step by step piece by piece one piece of equipment at a time.
The man was awesome. And i will never forget what he did.
There was equipment strewn all over the basement! Lol.
Im so sad to hear about his passing.
Mumsie just saw it in the markham economist and sun.
The obituary was phenominally done.
But for me i will never forget how he treated a nobody, a non big shot so well.
So For me that is the true measure of a man.
Its how u treat people that arent big players or big shots. Its how u treat people u dont necessarily really care about. But he treated me like a major somebody.
I really think Scotty cared about everyone he met.
I am forever indebted to what he did for me to start playing hockey.
And to u too mary anne. Because without u this doesnt happen.
Thanks to both of u
Craig Rowland (barb's son).
What a great man scotty was.

Scotty was a very special person.
Although our paths did not cross often in recent years, I thought of him often and will
continue to do so.
