I taught at SDHS and have fond memories of my time there. I always enjoyed the banter and comradery with 'ChrisP' (crispy). A visit to the main office was never dull as Chris would have a witty comment ready for any situation.

Its of great sadness that l can share and appritiate what Christine has left behind.May Jehovah God bring peace and comfort to the whole family during your big loss.My family will miss Christine so dearly because of her unconditional and devoted love she showed towards my family .Especially the thought that l being a single mother she always stood in for my son in High school and was able to reach me at all times he was in need both academically or physically.Her big soft smile always welcomed and reached people 's hearts and one could sense the fullness of her kindness and love. Chris and I were coworkers at Sutton for about 12 years. We had many laughs together. She was always ready with a joke. The students loved her as she was always positive with them.

On behalf of the Chippewas of Georgina Island, Chief and Council, and the entire community we offer our deepest condolences and sincere sympathy for the loss of Chris Paterson. Chris was a special friend to our island community and we will miss her dearly. Over many, many years Chris supported and went above and beyond for our Georgina Island students. She showed a deep caring and understanding in a way that was only hers because she understood what challenges our youth face in attending school each day. She took the time to get to know our youth individually, she took the time to know who in the community to call for assistance when a student was in distress and she made the time to reach out and make us her friend. Chris had culturally sensitively to the First Nation culture, and important aspect for anyone who interacts with First Nation students. The first person a First Nation family meets in a school is by far the most important person to the engagement of a First Nation family and we are happy Chris was there to fill this role. Her wit and her relaxed humour will be truly missed. We loved her dearly.

I was so saddened to hear about the passing of Chris. I left SDHS 15 years ago and memories came flooding back when I saw Chris' picture on this site. She is just how I remember her - with that great big smile. Visiting the school office was always a treat when Chris was there because she always so honest, so funny and never missed a trick. Chris will always be part of my memory of being at Sutton. She had a kind heart, amazing sewing and knitting talent, a way of knowing what everbody was up to and who they were related to and she always told you like it is. She also was as smart as a whip! It is so heard to believe that she is no longer with us. I'm so glad that I had the privilege of knowing her.
