Dear Betty and all of Fred's family. Max and I are very saddened to learn today of my cousin Freds passing. He was very dear to us and treated us so well when we visited him and you Betty in Florida. His sense of humor and spirit endured through his many setbacks and illness. I wish we were near to see you all. For any of the family who don't know me I am UNcle Will's brother Tom's daughter. Kindest regards to you all

Betty, Vince and Lee, Elizabeth and Allan, we extend to you our deepest sympathy on the Promotion to Glory of Fred. We go back a long time together: many times over many years playing golf, we were partners playing Rook, not always successful against our wives, sharing a meal and always great fellowship. We were unable to make the journey to Jackson's for the funeral because of doctors' appointments, but our thoughts and prayers were with you. As you journey through this period of grief and mourning, know that your friends are supporting you with our ongoing prayers.
God bless

Dear Vince & Lee, Liz & Alan and family,
We are so saddened to hear of your Dads death. We are grateful to have had his and your Mums influence on our lives over the years. They began their investment in our lives when we were teens. They were our camp parents for years. They continued to invest in our lives as we contemplated and then became officers. Your Dads quick wit and jovial laughter couched many life and business lessons learned. Your Dad impacted many people for the kingdom with his love for God, you guys and others. We will be praying for you in these days of loss and grief. May you all feel the powerful love of God and his presence with you as you journey this path of sorrow.
Peace, love and hugs
Grant & Lauren

Dear members of the Goobie Family:
I wish to send my condolences to the entire Goobie family on the
Death of Major Fred Goobie and especially his lifelong wife and faithful companion, Betty.
Both Fred and Betty were a member of the Intercessors’ session (l951 -52). We have been commissioned sixty three years ago, when at the Training College Mercy Seat, we sign our officer’s covenant. It was a covenant for life. Some have faithful to their covenant and some have not. Fred never forgot his promise to be a true Salvation Army Officer and I always knew him to be a man very proud of his affliation with the Intercessors’ session. I was, for all these sixty plus year, a friend of Freds and enjoyed his company and especially his sense of humor,
I was also a member of a small group of retired officers who played together at Pheasant Run golf course. Fred was a good golfer and played as long as health would permit. I send my condolences from the member of this select group of Salvation Army officers.
I do pay tribute to Fred’s faithfulness to the disciplines and standards of officership. It is, for all officers a life of sacrifice and submission to the orders and regulations of The Salvation Army.
which Fred always lived by, for which, | believe he will be richly
reward in the eternal life with Jesus Christ.
I will always remember Fred as a good friend, and delightful companion and fellow member of the Intercessors’ session.
I look forward to seeing him again around the heavenly throne to
wear the crown of life promised to all who faithfully follow Jesus.
I look forward to joining you at the funeral service on Wednesday
At Jackson’s Point Salvation Army. My prayers will follow Betty and the members of the family in this their hour of sorrow and sadness.
