Dear Steven Greg and your entire family,
I am sorry we can not make it up but Doug is getting ready to go in the hospital again. We were so sorry to hear of Lloyds passing. In the thirty years that we had boats at Crates your dad always had time for us. We both learned so much from him. I remember the fun times when he would call me gabby and the famous line I remember you when you were good looking. There will never be another like him. We will both miss him greatly.
All our love and care Kathy & Doug

We will always remember Lloyd.
He had such a wonderful life and he did more for others than anyone will ever know.
The family celebrations held at the marina made him so proud. We could see it on his face.
Seeing him on his golf cart along with his dog was always a treat. A simple wave meant the world to many boaters as they knew he was in his glory.
We have the greatest memories of him and will always smile and have a little chuckle each time we recall some of his stories he told us!
Lloyd was a wonderful man.
Simply The Best!
Continue to fill alll of your hearts with dreams and goals for the future.
Love,
Sue & Scott xxxx x

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Lloyd, a fine man I will never forget who gave me freely of advice when I got into the marine business and who continued with honesty, forthrightness, straightforwardness, and integrity in all of the dealings I had with him over the years.
Lloyd was always quick with a smile and a joke and seemed to enjoy life to its fullest. One of my fondest memories was when I visited Keswick a number of years ago and he invited me aboard his golfcart and we reminisced about the boat business and its many characters of the seventies and eighties. He has been a pillar of the pleasure boat business not only in Ontario but throughout Canada and leaves a lasting legacy through his family that will keep him remembered forever.
My sincerest condolences to the entire Crate family and to close friends. Lloyd was a one-of-a-kind who can never be replaced but who will be remembered fondly by all with whom he had contact.
Sincerely,
Richard Crowder

Crate Family;
My wife and I are saddened to hear about the passing of your dear father (grandfather). When we think of Lloyd, we have this vision of him patrolling the grounds in his golf cart with his trusted companion, the German Sheppard, at his side. Lloyd was a very kind and friendly individual who would always have a smile or a kind word.
I would like to let you know that our thoughts and prayers are with you as you deal with this tremendous loss.

It is with sadness that we learn of the passing of Mr. Crate. Lloyd fought to liberate the Netherlands, and in doing so personally helped liberate my parents who were young children growing up in occupied Holland. Lloyd donated quite a few personal effects to our military museum over the years, helping us to tell the story to the younger generation of our community. Lloyd was a true gentleman.
On behalf of all the volunteers at the Georgina Military Museum, and the staff at Liberation Tours, we say Thank You to Lloyd. And we will remember him.
