Obituary of James Thomas Fleming

Fleming, James Thomas Peacefully at Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket on Monday, July 3rd, 2023 at the age of 76 years. James Thomas Fleming, beloved husband of Christine Fleming (nee Bull) for 41 years. Predeceased by his son Jonathon Fleming. Loving grandfather of Tara Fleming MacGregor (husband Scott) and great grandfather of Logan. Brother of Sharon Murray and Briane Fleming (wife Leanne Dale) and the late Maureen Gross (Husband Frank Gross). Brother-in-law of Glenn Bull (wife Ellen), and Martha Thomas. Loving uncle of Michelle, Eric (Danielle), Tammy (Mike), Tina (Joe), Rob, Kevin (Meghan), Leanne (Kevin) and Jennifer. Fondly remembered by his extended family and friends. James had a varied career throughout his life. He enrolled in the Royal Canadian Navy at the age of 17. Following his discharge, he joined the Peterborough Police Force and then enrolled in the first EMS program and served 22 years with Toronto EMS. Upon retiring from EMS he taught First Aid and CPR. Jim's career ceased in 2015 when he received a heart transplant at Toronto General. This allowed a gift of an extra eight years of life. Cremation has taken place. A party in Jim's honour will be held at the Sutton by the Lake Clubhouse on Saturday, July 29, 2023. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Toronto General Hospital, Transplant Program, Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, Cardiology Department and the Margaret Bahen Hospice.
