Jim was an excellent Medic during his tenure with us at Halton Mississauga. He worked tirelessly as well for our Social Club once making coleslaw for 150 people in his Bathtub!! He was as good natured as they come. Another night he squeezed into my 5’2 wife’s wedding dress and danced out to the Waltz of the Sugar Plum Fairy! Lastly I was also the DJ at his wedding. My deepest condolences Christine for your incredible loss. I had lost touch with Jim over the years but will never forget him!

At Toronto EMS I worked in the southwest district along with Jim in the early '80's. An easy going guy, always up to the task at hand, not sure if we ever worked together but we saw each other on the road and when in training, Jim was a gentle giant of a man with the big mustache too ! My condolences to all of his family and friends.

I was very fortunate to work with Jim early in my career. He was the consummate professional in every way. His kind, caring demeanour with patients, defined Jim, in the field of ‘Pre Hospital Emergency Medical Care’. He will be sadly missed, but not forgotten. Brian Morris

Jim was a great guy. Gentle soft spoken. Worked with him when he first started down at 33 station then again at 16 station. Always had a smile on his face. Have fond memories of him and some great conversations. Would run into him at the occasional pioneer luncheon. I’m saddened of his passing but will always remember his gentle presence. God keep your soul in eternal peace Jim.

Condolences to the James Fleming family from the Toronto Paramedic Services Pioneer Association. I had the privilege of working with Jim as a Paramedic while at Toronto EMS. Jim had a great sense of humour and was always friendly towards his work colleagues. Jim was always professional in his work and took great care in treating his patients. A true professional. Rest in Peace.

My condolences to you Christine and all of Jim's family. While we have never met, I was in the January 6, 1981 intake group at Metro with "the tall guy" , where we became training partners. After our time there we were never partnered up again. Shame. Whenever we met in an emergency room, we would always take time to catch up on personal things, no shop talk allowed. As I look at the photo you chose to post, I was happy to see that his infectious smile had not diminished.
Please take care and watch out for each other.

Oh Jim you will be greatly missed my friend. I have only had the pleasure of knowing Jim for 7 years a short time really but in that time I learned of Jim's great sense of humour, his intelligence, his beautiful smile which was always present every time we met no matter where we were he always had a smile for me. Jim had been the president of our SBTL homeowners, a thankless job and was a great leader in that capacity. Jim IS a sweet soul and I say IS because Jim is alive in heaven watching over us all. Til we meet again Jim God bless.
