I miss my Uncle so much. But he is so vivid in my memories. His laughter so contagious. He continues to be here through my cousins and their children. Growing up was always an adventure with my dad and his brother. My memories are countless and I am so grateful for that.

Heartfelt condolences to Judy, Doug, Steven, Torie and Sarah as well as the rest of the family. Shirley and I were shocked and saddened when we heard the sad news.
We have known John and Judy since 1986 when we found ourselves in Balfour Beach and was always so helpful to us - there whenever we needed help and always with a smile on his and cracking jokes about our predicaments, in John's unique style.I remember years ago when John and Judy's family was growing rather quickly, I tried to tease him by asking him, "How can you possibly remember all you grand children's names? The look on his face said that I'd asked a stupid question but he replied, "Easy. I just call them all Darlin'." He will be sorely missed. We feel truly blessed and honoured to have known him. He was such an exceptional person.

Just a couple of weeks ago, while going through photos, I came across a beautiful wedding photo of John and Judy. It's not often you meet a couple so in love, so together, so beautiful.
We were young... John, Judy and I used to travel to the city every day to work, John drove (of course), we were always late so Judy and I hung on... I remember so well John's laugh as he navigated the traffic, sometimes with only a split second to spare as the oncoming car passed -- Judy yelling --John, confident and sure, would look over at her with that loud, teasing laugh. Loved that crazy laugh, everyone did...that and his big heart.
I would bet anything John brought some unexpected joy to heaven as he did to all of us who were lucky enough to have some precious time with him.
Very, very sorry Judy.
Much love,
Cynthia

So so sorry to hear of John's passing. Judy you know I love you and your family. I will be thinking and praying for you in the coming days and weeks ahead. You have many friends and family to support you. Angels will hold you up. John had you, Judy, as a most amazing wife, friend, mother and grandmother of his children and grandchildren. Judy, you encompass what a family of the greatest love can achieve. I remember at Sutton High when you met John in Toronto I believe through a high school trip. What a wonderful journey together you have both shared. You, Judy are blessed among women for sure.

Judy, Doug, Tori, Steven and Sara:
Words are inadequate to express my heartfelt sorrow at John's passing.
Not only was John an all-round knowledgeable, kind, generous, gentle and remarkable person, a mentor to anyone who asked - but most importantly - someone I considered a friend.
As I am in tears writing this, I can not imagine the feelings of loss you are experiencing.
My heart goes out to all of you and your families.
With sympathy and respect,

Where do I start? John was the handsome older brother of my best friend Torianne. (Torianne and I met in grade 2 many many years ago)
We idolized her big brother. He was so cool . He had a motorcycle! And so good looking.
But teasing Torianne and I was something he liked to do. Torianne and I had carved out a playhouse in the attic of the garage behind the Jones’ house in Toronto. We kept all our treasures up in that attic. One day with the help of his brother Doug, John started shaking the garage from the outside. (It was an old rickety garage).
Torianne and I were so scared we climbed down as quickly as we could and never went back. I often wonder what became of our treasures up there.
But my fondest memories are of John and his lovely wife Judy at the lake.
We didn’t visit often, but there was always a warm welcome when we did.
One day when we were at the lake in front of his brother Doug’s cottage, John asked me if I wanted to go visit a mutual friend of ours in his boat. He was ever so proud of his boat. Imagine my surprise when he pulled out a paddle boat. Well there was no backing out, so in I got.
We were gone for hours and I was worried we would never make it back. But we did and those hours on that paddle boat will forever be imbedded in my memories.
Rest in peace John. You will be missed.
