I first met Al and Barb when I joined the Voices of Georgina choir maybe 13 yrs ago. They were both very friendly and welcoming. Eventually, my husband and I got together with them on many occasions in our area and in Florida during winter months.
Al was a very gentle and kind man, always interested in what you had to say. We will miss him dearly.
Our condolences to his wife and children/grandchildren.
Love and hugs, Lillian and Les Davis

My sincere condolences to the McKenzie family. I felt I got to know Mr McKenzie through Barb at Islington CS - counting down the days until she and Al could head to the cottage or their next adventure and from Chris who spoke with so much love about her dad and mom. Wishing you all peace and comfort in the days ahead.

It is never easy to lose a loved one, but the wonderful memories we have will sustain you in the days to come.
I have such great memories of the days at the Town House at Flemington Park. Bryce and I had many double dates with Al and Barb. We all got engaged at the same time in 1962. We even arranged our weddings a month apart, so that Al could be an usher at our wedding in July ( the blue Pontiac convertible was our getaway car), and Bryce was Al’s Best Man in August.
They were pals from the very beginning - born a week apart - October 22nd and October 29th. Friends forever!

Mr. McKenzie,
The first time I walked into your home, I new I found my parents in both of you. You made my coming to work felt easy, because though you always in pain, you still made me laugh. There wasn’t a single day leaving your home without a laughter. I will miss you and cherish the memories I had with you.
Thanks for allowing me into your home to care for you and being a friend. Have a peaceful journey home to your maker. We love you but God loves you more. God be with you till we meet again
Love Faith King.

Dear Barb & Family.
Elsie and I were saddened to hear of Al's passing. I have so many good memories of growing up in Leamington, working at Clyde Hatch's clothing store along with Al and his mother Ruby. Al had a great sense of humor. Always remember when Al bought the blue pontiac convertible when we lived in Flemingdon Park in Don Mills. He was so proud of that car! Of course my best remembrance is when Al agreed to be part of our wedding party in 1962. It was an honor to have him part of our history. Our thoughts are with you Barb in this difficult time. God bless.
