I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Rudi Liedl. Mrs Liedl hired me to work at Alf's Bakery many years ago when I was in high school. I can honestly say that that has always been my favorite job and Rudi was my favorite boss. He was so very much like my father so I understood that he expected hard work and loyalty. At times he could be gruff however he rewarded his staff with his generosity in so many ways. I remember being allowed to go up to his property in Washago to camp or picnic and many summer weekends were spent there. At Christmas he hosted with Mrs. Liedl a wonderful Christmas party. Rudi was so very lost when his wife died due to cancer and I remember at her visitation him saying how lovely she was. I was so happy to hear that he found companionship and love again to share his retirement years in Annie. I used to wave or exchange greetings when our paths crossed in town and he always called me by the nickname that he gave me many years ago - "Jolie". Our paths last crossed about a year ago when I was taking my own parents to our mutual family doctor. I was saddened to see that my favorite boss had aged but then we all do. I enjoyed meeting his wife Annie and when Rudi realized our connection he instantly recalled our bakery days. I pray that his passing was peaceful and offer my sincere sympathies to his wife Annie, his children Robert and Karen and their respective families. I will miss him

Dear Rudi
Although I have never had the pleasure of meeting you, I know that you are greatly loved by my beloved cousins, Annie MacDonald, Karen and Keevin Foskett and all their kin.
