I am very sad to hear about John. I worked with John at the PWU for many years as his Administrative Assistant in the WSIB department. He took the time to teach me about WSIB issues and was so good with members and with people in general. He was a great guy!

Hi Neil and Lori, I am Diane's cousin & live in Pefferlaw. My husband, John and I would like to extend our sympathies for your loss. We had so many fun gatherings with Diane & John over the years. Our families shared a lot of celebrations and gatherings. We heard many remarks John would make about his 'children', he was very proud of you both. Happy that he and you are still supporting Sandgate. Lynne & John Barrett

As former neighbours of John, we are sorry to hear of his death. One of our best memories goes back to his hosting a New Years "do" in his "castle basement" at 40 East St.
He was a super friendly fellow and a great neighbour.

After my husband, Ed Donaldson, hurt his back in an accident at Lakeview John was a great help. On visits to see Ed, John and him would discuss all things "Geordie" as Ed was a Geordie too.
My husband died in 2001 so it's on his behalf that I say "Thanks a million canny lad". and send condolences to his family.

I first meet John Sarginson July of 1971 when I first started my career with the Hydro Electric Power Commission of Ontario, later to be called Ontario Hydro. John was the electrician working shift on "C" crew at Lakeview Generating Station. I spent many enjoyable hours working there with John. He was always one who cared about the people. That was one of his reasons for becoming the crew union stewart. Later on he advanced higher in the Union, but he never forgot the workers, he always put them first. Even though my career went from the thermal devision to the nuclear devision I still saw John from time to time. He always remembered me, and took a genuine interest in how I was, and what I was doing. I was saddened to hear of his passing from this life to his new life with Jesus Christ in paradise. Though John will be missed here, his presence in heaven was a joyous arrival, celebrated by all the angels. May the peace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ be with the family John left behind, and comfort them in the future.

Became friends with John immediately Some friends of Diane and John told me of his death. Fond memories of both of them. Trips together to Ireland, England, St. Kitts etc. Blessings to you and your family.

Dear Neil. I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. "Sargie" as we referred to him at the Power Workers' Union was a caring, well respected Staff Officer who helped numerous ill and injured workers get their workers' compensation. He lived life to the fullest and was always upbeat. He was a very proud man and for someone who had helped so many people, he expected nothing in return. I am very honoured to have known him. May the memories and knowing that he is at peace help you through these most difficult times. My condolences to you and your family. Take care. Dorothy

To the Sarginson Family,
My sincere condolences on John's passing. I was fortunate enough to work with Sargie for many years through the PWU and always appreciate his dedication and commitment to helping those who needed his assistance. He was a compassionate and wonderful person and he always worked hard for the underdog. His wit and love of a good joke always brought a smile to those around him. May your memories help you through this difficult time.
