Dear Helen and Melissa,
Pauline and I are so saddened to hear of Paul's passing. Apologies are necessary for missing the service but we only just read about it in the paper. Please accept our deepest condolences and know that you only have to call if there is anything we can do to help at this difficult time. He was a good man and Pauline was just saying that it was always so nice to just stand and chat with you all at Zehrs. Please pass along our sympathies to the rest of the family. It will take some time but laughter will return and your beloved images of him making the green in regulation will once again bring a smile to your faces.

My deepest condolences to Paul White's family on the passing of Paul. Undoubtedly one of the most talented and devoted golf superintendents of our time. Paul was extremely well respected in the golf industry, giving much of his time to improving the golf superintendent's trade. Helen and family, Jan; our sincerest sympathies on your loss. It was a very difficult journey and Paul put up a good fight. We both so enjoyed playing with you both on Mondays and the dinner afterwards; golf is not the same this year. As the director of Golf for the City of Toronto and Golf Professional at Don Valley G.C. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. White on a few occasions at some related functions. Additionally I had met Peter during his tenure at Humber Valley G.C. when he worked there for a few years.
I quickly realized how well respected Paul was in conversation with his fellow greens superintendents.
I started in the golf business at "The Briars" in 1967 when it was only 9 holes and have now returned as a member this year.
The Briars G.C. was extremely fortunate and in great hands thanks to the presence and wisdom of Mr. Paul White, Greens Superintendent extraordinaire.

On both a personal level and on behalf of GTTI-The Training Centre, I want to express our sympathy and condolences to Paul's family. I had the privilege of meeting Paul on several occasions as we worked together to put together yet another Greens Keeper training program for our community. Paul originated this idea several years ago with GTTI, and the program had much success in training community members for jobs in the golf industry. It also brought together many stakeholders in the industry, working collaboratively to support each other and those people who were trained. This was one of Paul's strengths ... supporting individuals at a very personal level, and working with organizations to bring them together for a common purpose. We thank him for that legacy and for touching the lives of so many by helping them find a path in life, find rewarding employment, and get themselves on their financial feet. Paul would be pleased that his idea has continued here at GTTI, and that 8 out of 10 trainees in our latest Greens Keeper program are currently employed. He was a friend to our organization, and to many of the individuals in it. We will miss him.

I joined CGSA on Nov. 1, 1989. My wife, Maria , died on Nov. 21.Paul and Helen were there for me ! I shall never forget that expression of kindness and sensitivity !!
I won't be able to attend the visitation or the service. My favourite uncle died at the Chatham Hospice recently. So , I've been staying close to home to assist my aunt with the loss of her husband of 68 years !
I know that many people in the wider golf community both liked and respected Paul. He was an excellent CGSA President and represented his profession with honour and pride .
To Helen and his fine family ,Paul will live in your memory always! He's at peace.
