I'm sorry to hear of Lorne's passing. He hired me and was my field manager in Edmonton in 1967. He was a steady and calming influence during those tumultuous days in the IBM of the late 60's

Sincerest condolences to the McLean family. I had the privilege of working with Lorne at IBM for many years and I had deep respect for his work ethic, his enthusiastic dedication to clients and the support he provided to his team. Lorne had a strong influence on my career and in later years I patterned a lot of my actions and programs from what I learned from him. Lorne will be missed.

I was deeply saddened by the news that Lorne had passed away. I knew that his condition was grave this past year but I kept hoping that the tide would turn for the better. We were good friends going back to the 1990s when we were doing volunteer work for the NQI. In his business life, Lorne was a dedicated professional and a man of the highest integrity. He loved the work he did at IBM as well as the people he worked with. Lorne was a good man, a kind man, a true gentleman. My sincere condolences to his family, his many friends and his colleagues at IBM. He will be missed by all of us who knew him.

I had the honour and pleasure of working with Lorne for many years at IBM. He was always a man of the highest integrity. He tackled every challenge the same way, with solid logic, a calm demeanor, contagious enthusiasm and a dry sense of humour. He helped our team achieve some remarkable feats.
I will always carry fond memories of Lorne and those years at IBM.
