Vivian Moir was my family physician for many years, and I found out only today of her untimely passing. She was instrumental in helping me to weather some very tough times, and for that I am extremely grateful to her. I wish I had told her this while she was alive; it will be very difficult to find another physician who possesses her almost supernatural empathy and kindness. RIP.

Dr. Moir was a wonderful person and a great doctor. She cared for the seniors in their homes, and at the nursing homes. I used to meet up with her at Riverglen Nursing home each Tuesday, while I was taking communion to some of the residents, on behalf of the Catholic church.
She greeted everyone like a friend. I can recall last year, the building went on lockdown as we were both ready to leave,. There was a tremendous rain storm. We were allowed to exit by the back door, but had to race around to the front of the building to get to our cars. We were absolutely soaked. We ran to our cars and both of us were laughing, waved to each other and drove away.
She touched so many people. Let her spread her angel wings.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to Dr. Moirs children, mother and extended family. I like many others had the privilege of having her as my Dr for 30 years. I remember her driving in the middle of a snow storm to Newmarket at 2 in the morning to deliver my son even though she had babies of her own at home. Thank you Dr. Moir for taking such good care of our family over the years. For that we will be forever grateful. Doctor visits will never be the same without you. Rest in peace with your brother. You will never be forgotten. .

I want to thank the family of Dr. Vivian Moir for sharing your mother/daughter with my family and the Georgina community. We know the sacrifices that she made to provide the compassionate care that each of her patients received and we are so thankful. Dr. Moir was a doctor who took her oath seriously "whosoever house I shall enter will be for the convenience and advantage of the patient". This could be seen during her frequent visits to palliative care, nursing homes as well as community living clients. I will truly miss you Dr. Moir, and to her three children, who she spoke so often about, during this incomprehensible time, I hope that you are able to find some comfort knowing how much this community also loved your mother.

Dr moir was an amazing Dr not only to her patients but to her clients to whom she serviced in group homes or hospice care. I got to know Dr Moir through my job in the community as a personal support worker when she would come out to the houses of the clients who were to ill to travil or cancer patients to check on them.
She was also my grandmothers palliative dr when she was in her final stages of cancer and i couldnt ask for a better caring and devoted woman.
I want to give my condolences to her family at this time. She was as a very loved and special lady and will be greatly missed by many..may she rest in peace.

Vivian was a lovely, unusually kind woman. We knew her briefly through her ex-husband John and immediately bonded with her. Our daughter required a medical practitioner with a special, gentle manner and Vivian agreed to become her physician. She helped our daughter through a difficult time and for that, we'll be forever grateful. She will be remembered for a long time for her impressive spirit and the tireless energy she gave to many. Rest in peace, Vivian. Our condolences go out to her family and all who loved her.

I started out as one of Vivians patients 24 years ago. I was 16 at the time. She has seen me go from an awkward teenager to a woman and then to a mother and then started taking on my own daughter as one of her patients. I was so truly blessed to have had her taking care of us. Always on top of any kind of concerns I had no matter what they were. I feel very lucky that I was able to have that time with her. My heart goes out to all of you.

My 3 teenage sons were very comfortable with her as she had a way of making that awkward feeling disappear, as was my young daughter. She was one of the kindest women I had ever met, surely we will never find another like her, we will miss her dearly. RIP.

Dr. Vivian Moir was a compassionate woman who took the time to really listen. It was she who figured out my Seasonal Affective disorder and helped me deal with it. It was through her diligence in caring for my daughter after a sexual assault that helped bring justice about. She helped me through tumultuous times as a victim of spousal abuse. Never judgemental. Always with compassion. She paid me a huge compliment once by appreciating my advocacy skills on behalf of the developmentally challenged adults I supported in my work. Respect was mutual. Sleep with angels Dr. Moir. A whole community and many more are mourning your loss. Deepest sympathy to your family.
