KNUPP, Sarah May (nee Bowman) Sarah (Sally) Knupp, passed away peacefully at River Glen Haven on Thursday, January 1, 2015 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of Dr. Graydon Knupp for 64 years. Loving mother of Nola Wilson (Ron), Neill Knupp (Freda), Dr. Nancy Merrow (Ross), Nevil Knupp (Diane) and Natalie Knupp-Croucher (Neale). Dear grandmother of Adam and Aaron Haesler, Brandon Knupp, Ivan and Melissa Merrow, Kyle Knupp and Helen Croucher. Daughter of the late Elizabeth and Joseph Bowman. Sister of Palmer Bowman and Betty Clark and predeceased by her siblings Joseph, Marjorie, Frances, Sheldon, Austin, John and Audrey. Sarah was born in Stroud, Ontario and attended Stroud Public School and Barrie Collegiate. She worked in a munitions factory during WW2 and then trained as a hairdresser at Marvel Beauty School in Toronto. After their marriage in 1950, Sarah and Graydon lived for 4 years in Toronto and then moved to Sutton. An active member of Knox United Church UCW from 1955 to 1976, Sarah was known for her creative talents, and will be remembered by some as Mrs. Santa at Christmas Fantasyland. Local children will remember her for her homemade candy apples on Halloween. When most people her age were retiring, Sarah opened an antique store and worked for many more years. The family would like to thank the staff at River Glen Haven and Dr. John Hall for the exceptional care provided to Sarah in her final year. Friends may call at Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, Sutton on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 1 to 3 p.m. A private family service will be held at a later time. Interment at Minesing Union Cemetery.
