Remember and love you always Uncle Mel ❤ but my favourite memory is all the Christmas balls hanging from the ceiling. Took you hours, but an annual event, and always beautiful. I think of it every year. I'm sad I learned of your passing too late to say goodbye, but I did it in my own way. One of the kindest men I've ever known, especially to my Mom. Thank you Uncle Mel.

Just heard of Mel's passing. I worked with Mel at Wib Smith Dominion Hardware Store (6183 Yonge St. Willowdale) for many years in the 1970's. Lots of great memories of dropping in to visit him at his house when he lived in Thornhill near Hwy. 7 & Yonge St. on Langstaff road. A very intelligent man with a kind heart and a full fridge.

I met Mel only a handful of times, but that was enough to know how so genuinely kind, warm, and all around great person he was! I got from what I know of him, is he would give the shirt of his back if you needed it! Such a heart warming soul he was! He will be greatly missed, but as long as you all have beautiful memories of Mel, he will stay in your heart forever! Warm hugzzzz to the Coles family! I wish I could take away your sadness, but unfortunately I cannot, just keep the happy memories alive in your heart! Deepest condolences Tammy Stork ♡
