Obituary of David McPherson Findlay

Peacefully and suddenly at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on Thursday October 9, 2008 at the age of 82 years. David Findlay of Keswick, husband of Una (nee Bryson). Father of Saundra Barreca, Maureen Konnyu, Linda McMillan, David Findlay, Kim Meek and Dianne Preston. Predeceased by his son Andrew. Grandfather of 14 and great grandfather of 9. Brother of Elma Lawson and her husband Bob (his friend since childhood). Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, David left George Heriot's School in Edinburgh to join the British Merchant Navy in 1942 at the age of 16 years. He served during WWII in the North Atlantic, Mediterranean, and South-East Asia. David settled in Canada in 1951 with his first wife Mary. Resting at the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Highway 48, Virginia, ON, Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, St. Anthony's Cemetery.
