Obituary of Janice Winifred Tanquiy

JANICE WINIFRED TANQUIY March 30, 1941 - August 31, 2013 I am very sad to announce that I have lost my loving wife of 49 years to severe complications of metastatic lung cancer, after a year of incredible struggle. Janice was a caring and generous wife, a dedicated mother to our children Beverley Wintjes (Mike), and Glen (Katja). Janice's pride in our grandchildren Brittany, Holly, Bradley, and Lauren was exemplary and her love was returned in full measure. Janice was known by many in our community for her care and diligence during her many years as a Medical Secretary in Sutton for Dr. Vivian Moir. From the initial diagnosis on September 11th, 2012 to the final evening and her death at home, Janice was given the utmost respect and consideration by the numerous healthcare providers we encountered. There were so many thoughtful and capable medical staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Stronach Cancer Centre, St. Michael's Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Centre, and Janice's CCAC home care team, that I cannot name any individuals without neglecting the many others who all contributed to excellent care for Janice. This includes a number of relatives, friends, and neighbours who provided assistance to us as we went through the past year, from looking after the family dog, to driving us to appointments, to providing meals, and sending many cards and messages. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton, on Saturday September 14th, 2013 at 2:00 pm.
