Lorne and I were best friends for over 50 years. He was my life time buddy. We did a lot of travelling to various places such as New Brunswick, Key West Florida, and numerous times to Mexico. Lorne was such a kind and caring man, that he was liked by everyone who met him. I will miss going to his place this summer for our regular BBQ. Lorne was like a brother to me. I could not have asked for a better friend.
Rest in peace my friend, I will miss you dearly.

I was very fortunate to have met Lorne through his best friend John Silas.
What an amazing person to know and have for a friend. I only knew Lorne for 4 years and have many fond memories of this quiet, soft spoken, and kind man.
Lorne touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.
Rest in peace Lorne.

**Please feel free to share these thoughts with those attending the service for Uncle Lorne.**
My dad, John Silas was friends with Uncle Lorne for over 50 years and I cannot remember a time he was not a part of my life or that of my family.
I have many fond memories of him as a child, whether it was a trip to his cottage in Haliburton or his visits to us in Arnprior. After I married he was just as much Uncle to my husband, Dan as he was to me. He was always there to lend a hand with some yard work; offer a place to stay when we were travelling; or to just hang out with and play some cards.
My children, Hannah and Calen were blessed to have known this caring and gentle man as well. Although Hannah is now 13, one of her favorite stuffed animals is "Sparkle Bear", a purple and green stuffed bear with shiny silver sparkles that Uncle Lorne gave to her as a baby.
Uncle Lorne was someone you could talk to. He was never in a hurry and always had time for a morning cup of tea or was up for a chat over a beer later in the day.
I am fortunate to have had such a special Uncle in my life and I know this is a feeling shared by many others who are better people for having known Uncle Lorne and the kindness he shared with others throughout his life.
Rest well Uncle Lorne, we will miss you.
Brenda, Dan, Hannah and Calen

The King family welcomed me into their lives and their hearts when I was just a tiny little girl and made me feel I was a very large part of their loving family. When Uncle Lornie was a young man living at Auntie Alice's, he used to rock me to sleep in his arms every night. I've never forgotten this warm comforting memory. He was a treasure to many and sadly missed by all.
