Bert, it's at times like this that words fall short ... how can you express in words what's happening in your heart... tears, sorrow and sadness in your loss of your life partner, Nancy, and yet, joy and smiles recalling many happy memories over the years with the two of you. Yes, her physical presence is gone, but the best part of her, her love and spirit she will leave with us forever. We are honoured to have known her and will cherish our memories. Nancy - the tears flow as I write this; they just won't stop!!! I think of you and I think of warmth and caring. I think of warmth and caring, and can't help but think of the home you and Bert created. Always welcoming and inviting - you were never put out by anything or anyone. You taught me so much by example. Kind, tender-hearted, understanding, knowledgeable, a true friend. You mentored me in the ways of re-enacting and gifted my whole family with so much - love, care, compassion, concern, food and time. Funny thing about time - I never realized it was such a limited resource. See, you're still teaching me. You taught me to make Cherokee Casserole!! I miss you my friend, I miss you SO, SO MUCH! Please know I'm praying for your family. My family is here for yours.
