Obituary of Dorothy Irene Burford

Burford, Dorothy Irene (nee Pearson) It is with heavy hearts - but music playing and wine glasses full - that we must convey the passing of our beloved Mother, Nannie, Gi Gi and friend to all, Dorothy Irene Burford. She passed very peacefully with her daughter by her side at Queen’s Village Retirement Home, London, on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the age of 97 years. She’s up there in heaven dancing with her adoring husband, Cecil (Bob) Burford, her son Jim and finally reunited once again with her mother, Lenna. A day didn’t pass that she didn’t miss her. She will also be reunited with her brother Jim and her granddaughter Jessica. Left behind on the dance floor are her children Ed (Kaylyn), Robert (Barbara), her daughter-in-law Patricia and Brenda Fazekas (Paul) and grand children Jason, Jared, Jennifer, Jillian (John), Alison, David (Ashley), Ashley and Nicole (Mitch); Great Grandchildren Lenna, Lydia, Lucas, Lily, Easton, Cassie, Mason, Tyson, and Charlie. Also raising a glass in her honour are her sisters Marion (Bob), Joan (Bob), Ann (Ernie), Evelyn, Sister-In Law Terry, Brothers Tom (Sandra) and Joe (Sue), as well as MANY nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and the multitude of friends that she has made over the years. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Dot’s life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Best Western Plus Stoneridge Inn & Conference Centre, 6675 Burtwistle Lane, London, N6L 1H5. Summer interment, Briar Hill Cemetery, Sutton. Arrangements in care of the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, Sutton.
