CHADWICK, Magdalene (Maggie)
Maggie passed away with her family by her side on Thursday 24th June, 2010 at the Southlake Regional Health Centre's Palliative Care Unit where she received excellent care after a sudden, tragic illness.
Maggie the Matriarch - devoted to her immediate family, her husband Julian, loving mother of Alan, (with our newest family member Lorraine), Christine (her husband Joe) and Stephen; granddaughter Sasha and step-grandchildren, Stephanie and Brittany; siblings Bill Szollosy (his wife Diane), Sandi Whyte, Dave Szollosy (his wife Lauretta); nieces and nephews Michael, Robert , Christopher and Stephanie; as well as her many great nieces and nephews. Maggie's "Buddy" (her dog) was a loyal companion and fierce protector.
Maggie the friend - to Norm and Pat, Cleta and Gussie and all the others - how our lives will all be changed by her sudden departure.
Maggie the life long teacher - of all things - her absolute commitment and love of children, either in the classroom setting or the numerous runaways she took in to help. Maggie will be sadly missed by her colleagues at the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association, her students and everyone who was fortunate to have known her.
Maggie who gave her time selflessly to the Georgina Pioneer museum - and for her work there she received the 2007 award from the Ontario Heritage Trust's Heritage Community Recognition Program for Cultural heritage:
Maggie who loved the lake will be celebrated (no black clothing required) at a lakeside ceremony at the De La Salle Chapel at De La Salle Park, 1940 Metro Road East, Jacksons Point, Ontario at 11:00 am on Friday July 2nd, 2010 (please arrive by 10:45) a reception will follow the ceremony until 2:00 pm.
