My condolences to Doug's family & friends. I worked with Doug on different productions on and off for about 6 years. He was a great driver and always there to offer advice or give me his wisdom on vehicle maintenance. He took pride in his work and respected his co-workers. He will be greatly missed by all. I met Doug when I was 15. Where Johnny Watson had hired me for the dayshift at the Irish house, until I became of age. I remember when when he came up from the city. He taught me so much. We had so much fun.
He was my first boyfriend!
Some of you may remember when we lived on Maple Avenue, where we rented his sisters cottage. We had so many fun times there with all of our friends.
In the last few decades, Doug and I had worked together, chatted on the phone, and had lunches. Alex, you were his whole world. He was so proud of you, and loved you so. I know that you and his family will miss him terribly.
My heart is broken, as I say goodbye to my first love. His kind, and a little bit wild soul, bright smile, and infectious laugh will remain with me always.
So, here is where we raise a glass, tell a joke, and burst out laughing. I will miss you my friend.

It’s taken me this long to process the phone call I got from Alex Sunday night. My deepest condolences to Alex and all of Doug’s family. With tears in my eyes, I’m writing this. I’ve been friends with Doug for over 30 years. Friends doesn’t seem to cover it, though; the stories are too many to tell, and if I did in this day and age we would probably be in jail, lol. What i will always remember is our smart-alecky attitudes, the jokes we pulled and the people we tormented, lol, in a good way, and our car trips and boat trips in summers past when we were younger. In recent years, we would go out for dinner once in a while and all we would talk about was our kids. Alex, all your dad could talk about was how proud he was of you. Don’t ever forget that. You were his everything. And with that i say good bye to my friend, my buddy, my pal. And to all people that really knew Doug, he would say make a joke and have a drink. CHEERS.

and share our stories!!! We would sit on my porch on Allen Drive, listen to Jackson Browne, and then cry
