Dear Bonnie and family, for some reason this morning, looking at some old stuff, I felt on an old phone number of Dave… Making some searches on the Internet, I found he passed away just a few months ago. Please accept all our condoleances. We keep such good memories of Dave. He was a very special man and always came up when sharing memories of the Farm. Dad is now 89 but still in good shape considering his age… Mom passed away to soon at 67. Again, our thoughts are with you all

Dear Bonnie June and family, we were very saddened by the news of Dave’s passing and are very sorry for your loss. Please accept our condolences as we send our deepest sympathy to you and all the Bennett family.
Bonnie June, we have shared many wonderful memories with you and Dave over the years…like the many enjoyable times spent together at our Camp Kahquah Winter Retreat weekends…or… when six of us pilled into one car (guys in front - a sleepy Dave in the middle - gals in the back) heading home together after an “All Night Sing” at Massey Hall in Toronto. Laughing hilariously together with Dave was always such good medicine!!
Many of our shared memories involved our love of gospel music. One, unforgettable and life changing memory for us happened in the fall of 1993 - highlighted by Dave’s trip planning expertise and his personal generosity. Dave asked us to host one of his NQC bus groups going to Nashville. We really did have a great time together and during the drive home Dave explained to us that he felt unable to continue planning and hosting these annual trips to the National Quartet Convention. He then offered to have the NQC ticket subscription turned over to John’s name if we would consider planning and hosting the trips ourselves, beginning in 1994 at the new location in Louisville, Kentucky. This was a totally unexpected, exciting and daunting challenge for us. However, with Dave’s generous offer of support and encouragement, we agreed to give it a try.
The result is history! These awesome, heart warming NQC gospel music trips continued to bless, not only us personally but literally hundreds of Canadian friends who travelled with us for the next 20 years!
David Bennett was an exceptional man who shared God’s Love, in so many ways, to so many people!

I loved reading the memories shared by others. They only reinforce my view that Dave Bennett was one of those people who could best be described as "salt of the earth."
Dave supported us at a fundraiser with his auctioneering skills. Although he was recovering from a recent health issue at the time, he and Bonnie June came and with their skills, they added value to the evening, and we raised more money for a really great cause.
I have a very small pie business, and every year, as August approached, I knew that I'd hear from him, as he would place a special order for treats to take along and share on an annual fishing trip. I loved being part of those fishing trips in the shape of butter tarts and pies.
Paul and I had the deepest gratitude and respect for Dave Bennett, and our hearts go out to his family in their loss.

Bonnie June and family,
The morning after Dave's passing, in my devotional reading, the scripture verse was from 2 Timothy 4:7 ("I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith"). The devotional title was "Finishing Strong" When I saw this I immediately thought of Dave. He DID fight a good fight, he DID finish the race, he DID keep the faith and in his weakened body, he DID finish STRONG.
Dave "FROG" Bennett will be missed by all who knew him, but what we gained throughout the years of knowing him (and you B.J.), will never be forgotten. To both of you I just want to say, "THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES". They have all been wonderful.
Love you bunches,
Nancy Nigh

My deepest condolences to Bonnie June and the entire Bennett Family as you mourn the loss of your dearest husband, father and grandfather. My late husband (Ken) and I had enjoyed many bus trips with Dave in the past, he was such a kind, friendly man who always worked hard to ensure that everyone had a wonderful time. I know that Dave had a strong faith in the Lord which greatly shaped the gentle loving person that he was.
I'm sorry that I will not be able to attend the visitation and funeral due to a prior family commitment but pray that God will bless and comfort all of you in the sad days that lie ahead.
With much love, Marilyn

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of David?
A: My brother- in- law, Dave, was a fun loving person who was always telling jokes and laughing a lot
I remember many good times our families had together. He loved having people around him.
Once when our family visited with Dave and Bonnie June at a cottage they had rented, Dave took our son, Ronald, out in a boat to fish. When Ronald caught a huge fish, the proudest and happiest person next to Ronald himself was his Uncle Dave.
Some of Dave's favourite things were going to stock car races, fishing, and going to dances with friends and we got to share in these fun times.
Dave was a skilled driver and this led to his career as a bus driver and tour organizer. Many people enjoyed travelling with him and Bonnie June over the last several years.
Dave will be greatly missed by his many friends, his family, and especially his wife, Bonnie June.
Rest in peace, Dave!
Your Sister-in -law,
Beverly

Loetta and I send along to you Bonnie and your family our sincere sympathy in the loss of your beloved, David. We knew that he was unwell and death was expected.
Loetta and I have happy memories that we took with the two of you. I remember how I burned Dave at his birthday party. Two nights ago I dreamt of that occasion. David was a good man of God. He made many friends and is going to be missed.
May God undergird each of you with His gracious Loving arms.
