Obituary of Dave Woods

Woods, Dave It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dave Woods, loving husband of Shirley Woods (nee Armstrong),of Sutton. Words cannot describe the enormous loss and sorrow we felt as we said goodbye on Monday October 24th, 2022, at the age of 70 years. Dave beloved son of the late Lorne & June Woods. Youngest brother of Ken Woods, Bev Russell and Pat Ross. Dave was a family man who will always be remembered as a devoted and engaged father to his 2 sons, Ryan and Michael and the most adoring grandfather to his grandchildren, Brooklynn, Sadie, Dakota and Carrera Woods. Dave will be remembered for his warm heart, quiet strength, quick witted humour, and especially for his passion as a musician, entertaining across Canada, singing accompanied by his acoustic guitar. He wrote many songs and commercial and TV show jingles over the years. He loved his cottage on Kushog Lake in Haliburton, boating and teaching the kids how to water ski. So many summer evenings were spent around the bonfire with friends and songs. Dave's passing leaves a void that will never be filled – a small price to pay for the privilege of having him in our lives. Friends and family may call at Knox United Church, 34 Market Street, Sutton, Tuesday, November 8, 2022, from 3:30 p.m. with the Celebration of Dave's Life at 4:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
