Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the age of 83 years. Chuck Abbs of Jackson’s Point, beloved husband of Colleen Hickland. Dear father of Cathy Abbs, William Abbs (Craig), Tina Clousten (Eugene), John Abbs (Linda), Bobbie Forbes (Sam), Karen Zammit, and Eric Hickland (Lee). Loving grandfather of Jennifer, Caitlin, Braydon, Amalie, Lindsay, Sam, Tammi, Bobbie-Lee, Crystal, Brandi and Christopher (deceased). Great grandfather of Mason, Jordan, Kiya-Lynn, Peyton, Nathan, Megan and Madison. Fondly remembered by his extended family and many friends. A Military Funeral Service will be held at his graveside in Briar Hill Cemetery, 5500 Black River Road, Sutton, Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. All attendees at the cemetery will have the option of remaining in their vehicles or standing where you feel most comfortable. There will be a sound system set up so every person will be able to hear the proceedings. Memorial donations to the Poppy Fund of the Royal Canadian Legion would be appreciated by the family.
