We met Deanna years ago, when she became our favorite waitress at Wild Wing in Sutton. Then she invited us to the Halloween party there. She dressed up as "Pippy" from Anne of Green Gables and looked cute as a button! She called me "the Bumble Bee" and we have been friends ever since. Last year , we met again at the Bobcaygeon Legion, where we had just moved to. She saw me and stood up and said "Bumble Bee". I heard her voice and said"Pippy!" Then we hugged, even though covid restrictions were on! It was so good to see her. Later we found out that our husband's had worked together in the past. Small world ! Sadly we found out she was fighting cancer, and later, it had spread and she was undergoing further treatment in Oshawa. We went south for the winter and we were never able to say goodbye. Believe it or not, we met someone new, in the legion in North Ft Myers, in Florida, and she is from Coboconk, and sings in Bobcaygeon Legion and certainly knew Deanna. I asked how she was doing and she told me she hadn't survived her battle with cancer. Our Legion was honoring her that weekend. Again, a very small world. My husband and I r so very sad by the loss of such a lovely young woman. We look at this beautiful picture of her and just smile. We, as well as everyone who ever had the privilege of knowing her, will miss her forever. She was taken from us, long before her time. xoxo
