We will always remember Uncle John for his storytelling, his cooking, and his good-humoured nature. Whether it was an impromptu drive through town Christmas carolling, hay wagon rides at thanksgiving, or suffering heat exhaustion dressed as the Sutton Fair mascot, John was always game. The numerous books riddled throughout the house were constant evidence of his love of history, knowledge which he readily shared. We will miss his stories and that booming laugh.
Our sincere condolences Sean.

To my good friend John
I have many fond memories of your friendship over the past 56 years. I will always remember your quest to become more self sufficient raising animals and fish and gardening for food. You were a great host of our deer hunts every year where we enjoyed telling stories and reminiscing over past hunts. Your wit and humour will be sadly missed. Thank you for being a friend.

To the extended family of John Alexander.
I taught with John at George S. Henry S.S. for 28 years. I considered him one of my very best friends. For many years my wife Barbara and I visited John and his late wife, Joanne at their home in Sutton. We always enjoyed our visits. Just prior to Christmas, I tried unsuccessfully to reach John on the telephone and was concerned when he did not answer.
My wife and I wish to send our sincere condolences to Sean and John's extended family at this time. John will be missed. With deepest sympathy.

Johnās sense of humour and his story telling will be missed by all. John and Joanne were great company and loved to visit and to entertain. Johnās patent line when asked how he was feeling; āfine as ground pepper!ā. We have great memories and chuckling stories to hold them both close.

John was a fun loving person. He had a great sense of humour (or maybe it was just that I always got his jokes). Joanne always felt that we were ganging up on her. He was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed history books. He and I enjoyed the love of stain glass and he was great at providing cut outs for Joanne and I to folk art. He always had a big smile and rarely a complaint, even when he wasn't feeling well. John spoke very highly of his life long "hearse" friends and fondly of their adventure together.
I will miss John as I miss Joanne, I loved them both.

We have nothing but fond memories of John. John was a member of the BHG - a group of seven guys who became close friends at Listowel High School in the 1950's and continued their friendship for over 60 years. We will miss John's fantastic sense of humor and great intellect. A life well lived.

Dear Sean: I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. I thought about him before Christmas and should have called him. He was a really terrific person and I'm sure the community will miss him. Rest in peace, John.
