Leaves Of Change/Uncle Levi Reid
My thoughts, prayers and support, extended to my cherished cousins...Wayne and Joanne, Bruce and Wilma, Brenda....during this difficult time.
Autumn Season as such ....reveals vibrant colours & changes all around! Such change, brought fourth to my Uncle Levi...a brand new home in a far off land ...streets of gold & a mansion too! Best of all, it was paid in full!
We all have such stories to share and I know, he will be missed by all of us! I am almost certain, He would prefer for us... to remember the good ole times!
Tears trickle down my cheeks, cherishing such fond memories of my Uncle Levi and how he kept his marriage vows..”Til death, due us part!” Over 60 years with his best Valentine/his cherished wife...my Aunt Freda.
Such tears are joyous ones, as I re-call musical tunes, dancing in the files of my mind! Uncle Levi aways enjoyed the entertainment scene, as Benda & I sang a few musical notes! Such times as such...suited him fine!
Levi tapping his toes, Me strumming a guitar string or two! A few musical notes, that sometimes, might have cracked a mirror or two!
Yes, I can almost hear him now...singing along with Brenda and I! “Heaven Came Down” ..... He seemed to cherish this song, the most!!..
Not sure what Wayne or Bruce thought of us, but, both Brenda and I agreed ...we might just make it to Holly Rock!! An applaud here and there... was enough for us!
Bruce, Wayne & Brenda...your dads dry sense of humour, his laid back easy going character.....was appreciated by me, well, others too! Never recalled him, turning into the Hulk! He just never was the angry type!
Uncle Levi worked very hard, an industrious soul he was, banks & schools till squeaky clean!
I remember him cruising and sailing along....true blue waters & waves! Such sport as this, his family, some friends were welcomed aboard!
Use to visit him in Jackson Point, before residing in NewMarket. We would sit on the back porch, observe the birds chirping their joyful tunes! The sunset was such a beautiful scenic view!
Freda serving us, some fine black tea & Levi got me hooked on Carnation milk, to compliment. Bruce raking the fallen leaves, Wilma lending a helping hand! Wayne, Joanne with their family, providing, Good Samaritan Deeds!
I am sure he has already met up with other family there! Would not be surprised, if he meets up with my dad...My aunt Freda’s brother, then decides to mimic him too! A few flips to perform, just like my dad!
Until then...when I and others here, will one day, also see him there!
Cherished in my heart, always
Joanne Dale

To the Reid family. Uncle Levi was the most kind man. I never heard him even raise his voice or be upset. He made you feel so welcome and served the best coffee. Rip uncle Levi and hope you and Aunt Freda are enjoying the most tasteful coffee. Love to all my cousins that are my most beautiful family. Love Lillian and Riv. Xx
