Judy Anderson posted a condolence

When we heard the sad news about George earlier this year, we had hoped that we would have chance to meet with the family to share what a valuable member George had been to our Georgina Lawn Bowling Club. George was a member of the Georgina Lawn Bowling Club for many years and he was a friend to many and respected by all. He welcomed all new members to the club and displayed good sportsmanship on the green whenever he bowled. He had a great sense of humour and a wonderful smile. George always helped out where he could and has left us with wonderful memories.
On behalf of the members of the Georgina Lawn Bowling Club, we would like to extend our sincere condolences to George's family.
Judy Anderson - Club President

I remember George and his brother Bruce from our days in Boy Scouts at Danforth United Church. George was always a happy, high-spirited kid, and I wish I had known him later in life. It sounds like he led a dynamic life. Lorne O'Neill, Alliston, On.

I will always remember George’s smile and sense of fun.
Three generations of Burns family and Eagleson family summer times as neighbours. Funny stories of my Dad, George & Bruce Burns through the years in TO, Jarvis High and of course Willow Beach.
Colleen and I, along with other summer friends also had fun times that may, or may not have, got on our Dads nerves lol.
Sending heartfelt condolences to a special family at this difficult time.

By an amazing coincidence Cay and George booked the same cruise across the Atlantic and through Europe. We arranged to sit at the same dinner table. George kept us laughing at every meal. We miss him and love him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you bid farewell to a one of a kind and memorable gentleman. We shared stories and laughs with George and Cay at Marg and Vic Timmins’ during coffee hours, which were held almost nightly. Their lives wove loosely through ours; often seeing them both at David’s parents home, or in the hardware store, or at a community event. We send hugs to all and please make sure Cay gets a big one from us.

Dear Burns Family,
Our families shared such wonderful times in the days on Churchill Lane. Summers stretched on forever, the days were long and we had so much fun living cottage-life over the years. The memories of "Mr. Burns" are warm and full of laughter.
Even though I moved out west and spent little time at Lake Simcoe in recent decades, it was always a pleasure to hear about your families and how each of you were progressing in love and life.
What a wonderful gift George and Cay gave all of you at Willow Beach and later Plumstead!
Sending warm thoughts and sincere condolences from Calgary,
Leslie (Eagleson) Dunning
