Sincere condolences to the Burrows family on the loss of Joyce. Your family and I have been neighbours for over sixty years, first in Sutton and then in Jackson’s Point. I have many wonderful memories that our families have shared over the years.
“Job” babysitting, horse shows, Frankie selling us eggs, walking the block in the evening with George and our dogs, as he pointed out the constellations to me, my wedding shower at your home that Joyce so graciously hosted; and, these are just a few. The neighbourhood will never be the same, as it is the end of an era. Life leads us in many different directions and I wish nothing but the best for all of you. May you RIP Joyce, as your children and grandchildren cherish the memories that you have left for them.

I remember when a group of Family Physicians from China came to Canada to see how we practiced in a rural community. They spent a whole day at the Georgina Medical Clinic, and of course, Joyce organized refreshments in her home. The Chinese doctors loved being invited into a real Canadian home, and one of the female docs tried on each of Joyce’s big, floppy sun hats, which were sitting on a coat stand near the door.
They (and we) all had a wonderful time!
