Our condolences to family and friends. Sheila and I always enjoyed seeing Ted around town. He always had a big smile and time to catch up. I have a few favourite memories of Ted - visiting him on one of our Briars cottage building sites as a kid where he showed me how to use a hammer without hitting my thumb; he coached our hockey team for a couple of seasons and he was always positive and fun... we loved it when he came out on the ice to scrimmage with us. He was a great player - fast and powerful. We will miss him.

My sincerest sympathies to the Big Canoe family and close friends. I’ve known Ted my whole life, his home was near by ours in the Acres for many years, he was a good man and a big part of our hometown. Ted built my first art studio for me when I was 15 and he even put up with me trying to help him. He was a regular customer at our Gulf Station in the Point over the years so he was around getting gas and service often. We played golf and saw each other around the club. Always a big smile and a hearty greeting.
He will be missed.

My condolences to the Big Canoe family on Ted's passing. One of my favourite and enduring memories is going to the Sutton arena as a kid and watching Teddy wheel and storm up the ice, skating rings around whomever had the sorry task of checking him. He was a terrific hockey player and with Rudy, they were a force to be reckoned with.

My sympathies to Aunt Marg, Marie, Rudy, cousins, Patti, Teddy, Chris & Tim and your spouses and children. I am laughing at the snake story as I recall Martha hating snakes when we went blueberry picking! My memory of Uncle Ted was when we attended the Sutton Fair and you walked through the fun house's rolling, stainless steel tube. But Uncle Ted reached up to the top and fixed his hands there and the rolling tube took him all the way around so he was upside down! His height enabled him to do this. I was awestruck and he became a rock star to me! He knew that his athletic moment was funny to me but the inner kid in him was more delighted that he did that! I recall his big smile with dimples, hands in his pockets and love of laughter.
Thinking of you all and distanced hugs and love to you all. Joann, Glenn and family

Ted made my deck and boathouse, years ago. I remember him as a teasing, happy-go-lucky man, but always competent and trust-worthy. One day, he called me over to where he was working, pointed to the ground, where a garter snake lay curled, He expected me to run away screaming. Instead, I called my 2 teenaged girls to see it. They picked it up, & offered it to Ted to hold. Ted was the one to back away!! :)
My sincere condolences to Patti and the whole family.
