Shirley was a good friend to our family. She was an explorer leader at Knox United Church and both Peggy and I attended the meetings and wore the Explorer blouse faithfully. I remember bobbing for apples in a huge metal tub for a Hallowe ‘en
meeting. I remember Shirely singing many beautiful solos both at Church and also at meetings for the UC W at our house.
Clare and Shirley were extremely kind to my sister Judy and welcomed her to volunteer at their variety store after she was discharged from the hospital with mental health issues. Clare and Shirley and my parents Enid and Orv had a Royal Alex subscription and travelled to Toronto to see many plays. Clare visited Dad regularly when his health was declining. Such great memories!
