Ian was a great member of our team for many years. He was a good friend to all of us and enjoyed playing the game. He always came by our practices when he was able to get to Florida over the last couple of years. His drive and love of life was an inspiration to all of us. Many of our team also fished with Ian and we enjoyed his stories of hunting, fishing. Ian always had a new "story" for us which always attracted everyone playing to stop their play and enjoy the story! And there were a lot of them!
We will all miss Ian; but we all have very nice memories of him which will last forever RIP Ian

I was so sorry to hear about Ian's death. Many years ago Ian and Jean and Tom and I spent many hours together at Caledon races and racing events. Last year, I saw Ian at the Keenagers' lunch and he had the same bright smile and cheerful outlook. My sincere sympathy to you all on your loss.Judy Hendy

Heather, Lori, Jody and David,
I was so saddened to hear about the loss of your father. I remember him and your family fondly from our wild and crazy hockey weekends back when were were teenagers. Your dad always had a twinkle in his eye -- full of laughter, a bit of mischief and lots of love for those around him. May your happy memories bring you comfort.
Warmly,
Cindy Crawford

Dear MacPherson: While I didn't know Ian, I read his obit and thought he must have been a wonderful person and someone you wished you knew. Whoever wrote his obit has made it a real tribute to a great person.

Both Doug & I were saddened to learn of Ian's passing. We will always remember Ian as a kind and generous man. Our friendship began in Florida in 2010 where we met Ian & Johanna. We quickly realized that we were also neighbours in Ballantrae and we would often comment on "what a small world it really was".
Our friendship grew over the years both in Florida and Ballantrae. We were there for his beautiful wedding to lovely Johanna, countless dinner parties, birthday celebrations, Christmas dinners and boat rides. Our doggies played together in the Florida dog park and we have many fond memories of both Cluney & Dyna playing together with Wilson, while all the doggy parents socialized, Ian of course always sharing a story or joke.
Many things will not be quite the same without Ian's presence and incredible whit.
Rest in Peace....until we meet again.
Love,
Janet & Doug

We are very saddened by the news of Ian's passing. He was a rare individual who always saw the bright side of life and never stopped smiling. Even while going through his fight with cancer, he was sending out jokes on a regular basis and making sure all around him were uplifted by his beautiful spirit.
Ian was very special to everyone who met him. The world will definitely miss everything he gave to everybody in all walks of life.
We offer our sincerest condolences to Johanna and all of their family and friends. The memories of Ian will always bring joy and smiles to all who knew him.
All our love
Jennifer, Ed and Ryan Starr

I will miss you greatly while happily remembering all of the fun times we had at Hilton North and otherwise. Anneth remembers how Ian qualified all our trips by saying “we must go because one never knows how many opening days are left”.
