My deepest condolences to the children of Dalt’s that I went to school with. I was blessed to grow up and know your Dad as a teacher, lover of Bev Doolittle art and I even bought one of his Bev paintings. Your Dad was such a great friend to my Mom Dorothy Walker and many other members of Knox United Church.
Hugs and prayers to each of you!!!! It is so hard to lose a parent❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was so proud to have known Dalt, and lucky to have had him as a Department Head early in my teaching career.
Dalt had great strength of character that he clearly passed along to everyone he came in contact with. He was an incredible listener which was easy for him because he deeply cared about what others had to say. He always left people feeling better about themselves. The world is a much better place because Dalt Mercer was in it.

Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
I had the privilege of being Dalt's class-mate at Queen's and Nancy and I are pleased to have been his friend for over sixty years.
Dalt was as considerate and thoughtful as any one we have ever known --he was a model for the rest of us and we will remember him forever.

To all the Mercer family: What a wonderful father & grandfather you have lost. He was one of a kind - so caring and also had his school community and Sutton community at the heart of all he did. I have missed seeing him about town. He would always stop to chat, at the post office, at the bank, down main street. We loved this guy. Rest in peace, Dalt.
