Sorry to hear about Mr. Guy passing away. He was one of my favourite teachers. I will always remember his little 'life lessons'... like only buying black socks so that they always match. I'll always appreciate his sometimes brutal criticisms, because he pushed me to try hard instead of trying just hard enough to pass. He was a great and memorable teacher. My sincere condolences to the family.

Bill was my Grade 8 teacher at Morning Glory Public School. He was an engaging and witty speaker in class, with comments on everything and anything. I was so impressed that I wrote down some of his funnier comments for posterity. Now he's gone, and I regret not dropping by to see him the times when I passed through Pefferlaw.
He was the sort of person who put in a lot more than he took out. He helped show the way to adulthood for many local boys and girls.

On behalf of the entire Claughton family I want to pass on my condolences to all of Bills family and friends.
Living just around the corner from Bill my memories go beyond the school yard. My best memories of Mr. Guy are them occasionally using his horn maker in his truck as he drove by us playing ball hockey on the street. He wouldn’t do it too often cause he didn’t want to spoil us but we always watched for his truck in hopes we’d hear the General Lee horn or something.
At school Mr Guy presented me with the athletic award in grade eight and I’ll always cherish that award and who it came from. I respected Bill very much and hearing of his passing brings much sadness but a lot of warm memories so much I could write for hours. Like the time he had all the answers to the history test on the chalk board but said nothing just to see if anyone caught on well the test was being administered . That’s classic!! Rest well Bill. You will be missed.

My condolences to the Guy family. Mr. Guy was my grade 6 music teacher. For years I kept a folder full of Beetle and Beach Boy music, that he had passed out the lyrics to. I had the pleasure of chatting with him at MGPS's 50th reunion several years ago, where he still recalled teaching several of my relatives through the years. He was a great educator and as I recall, a favorite of the students. May his family find peace in fond memories.

Our condolences to Anne and family. Bill was the cornerstone of our MGPS school community. He was an amazing educator who demonstrated that education occurred outside the classroom as well. His leadership in sports, operettas, duck hatchery and school-community events has made a lasting impression with thousands over the years. Bill was a great model for younger and older teachers alike, quick with a classic "Mr. Guy Groaner" joke to pick up an afternoon.
An old adage rings true for Bill - "gone, but not forgotten".

To Anne and family. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family at this time. He was an awesome teacher when I was in Grade 6 and a good man. I will also remember him as a god hockey coach. He let everyone play. I know I was goalie one year with him as coach but I believe I also was forward another year when he coached and though I wasn't very good he believed in me and gave me confidence. He will truly be missed.

Oh my gosh so sad to hear that my grade 8 teacher at Morning Glory has passed away. Mr Guy encouraged me to explore and pursue my love of music. He had me play O Canada on the piano for our class’ daily singing of our national anthem. He made going to school a lot of fun with his keen sense of humour. Thoughts and prayers are with the whole family.

Dear Ann and Family. The Morning Glory P.S. family has lost their lead man. I'm glad I got to teach with Bill and especially to help out with his annual plays. Many of us will remember our debriefing meetings in the senior wing at the end of the day which were full of bad jokes and lots of laughter. Bill you faced so many health challenges with aplomb - we thought you were bionic. Rest in peace Mr. Guy.
