Dear Linda,
I am very sad to here about Bob's passing. He was a great neighbour and was so helpful to me with the grass cutting. I am pleased I was able to see you both again when you popped into my work a few years ago, what a surprise! He had a great sense of humour and just so kind.
I am so sorry for your loss.
Take care,
Trish and Phil (on Starrview)

My condolences on your loss of this fine gentleman. I worked for Sgt Gilmour at 12 Division in the late 70's and he was certainly a mentor to those of us under his supervision. I will always remember his beaming smile and his sardonic and droll humour which made the worst of calls easier to deal with. RIP Sergeant.

Bob was a quiet man who led by example. I will always remember his dry wit and humour, he was an inspiration and source of great knowledge.
Bob was highly respected by all, will be sadly missed.

Strength. Generosity. Guidance. Support. Selflessness. These are only a few of the many incredible things Rob and Linda Gilmore have brought into the life our of family. Things we had lost faith in the existence of. Thank you both for bringing it back to us. We miss you Rob. We will always miss you. We are astonishingly lucky to have gotten to have you in our lives for the time we did.

Words cannot fully express how much Rob will be missed. He was a wonderful man who felt blessed to have his family, his dog "Sage" and a life filled with wonderful memories. He was proud of his children and found great joy in his grandchildren - Kaleb, Ty and Zach. His sweet tooth was known to all (ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, & more), and his quick sense of humour. He was soft spoken, but definitely a man of integrity and good judgement. A cherished friend who we thought of as family. May all your wonderful memories bring you some peace at this time and know that we are close by.

Dear Linda and family,
My deepest condolences on your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Bob on the same platoon at 21 Division in the late 80’s. He was a true gentleman, easy going, and always reliable. Younger officers looked to him for guidance which he readily provided. During emergencies Bob gave direction to others in a calm, logical manner. During quiet times, he often spoke of his family in a loving and caring manner. Seeing the ‘SGT 60’ plate in the parking lot when coming in to work, you knew the platoon would be good hands for the shift!
RIP Bob.

Bob was one of my very first Sergeant's when I joined 21B in the early 80's. He was always approachable and a true mentor to all of his officers. He was one of those guys you just never forget. My condolences to his family.

One of the finest gentleman I have had the pleasure to know!
Although I never worked on his shift at 21, I claim him as one of "my Sergeants".
He always took time to help and to talk, whether it was on a call, in the parking lot at shift change or, in later years, when he was mowing my neighbours lawn in Orangeville, I always enjoyed our chats. He will be missed.
Please know my thoughts and prayers are with Bob's family.

Words can never properly describe the loss of a parent or grandparent. But pleas know that our thoughts are with you.
In my opinion Bob was the quintessential police Sergeant. Always there, always ready, always willing to to what was needed. One of the differences he made was that he never did just what was required. He always used his own resourcefulness to make sure what was being done was the right thing. (Including offering options when he didn't believe in what he was given)
He had a special talent for mentoring young officers and remained well respected throughout their careers.
I would personally seek him out to manage the aftermath of tragedy knowing his common sense and sensitivity would guide.
A pleasure to work with. A pleasure to have known him. The community was enriched.

Our deepest condolences to you, Linda, Wendy, Amy, Hope & Adam and families. "Mr. Gilmore" was an awesome next door neighbour and friend for many years. Rob had so much fun teasing our kids throughout their growing years and spoiled them terribly, impressing on them like a dear grandfather. He will be greatly missed by us all.

Linda and Family,
Please accept my most sincere condolences at this sad time. Bob was one of my first Sergeants when I was posted at 12 Division in 1974. He always had time for his officers and it was reciprocal. I can honestly say he was one of the most aaalevel headed officers I ever worked with and for. The memories you have will help in the coming days. RIP Bob, you fought a great fight...you will always be remembered.
