Liz was the most wonderful lady. I met her through the World Masters where she worked tirelessly to promote the kind of Judo Kano Shihan would have been proud of. She always had a welcome for each and every competitor. She will be missed by us all. RIP Liz.

I initially met Liz when she was playing for her father’s Accurette junior team of the East Toronto Ladies League. Coxwell Stadium was few blocks north of Accurate Distributing , Pat Roach’s business location. With her encouragement and assistance, we managed to enter a predominantly Japanese Canadian Girl’s team. Initially she was our player/manager and later managed both our senior and junior teams. Our last 3 championship junior teams were sponsored by Liz’s dad, Pat Roach, a great benefactor of this league for many years. Unfortunately, the league folded after our final championship year and Liz and I followed divergent paths. That’s when she started her career in judo with Frank Hatashita’s dojo. Liz was an incredible talent with endless energy. In addition to managing the softball team, she was raising her family at their Vaughn Rd. Toronto home. We enjoyed many team functions there. On behalf of all the players and coaches and sponsors of our teams through those memorable years, Thanks Liz.

I met Liz playing baseball. She was the oldest player and yet able to strike us out. I remember her umping my girls games too. She was very fair and humble. Quick with a laugh. She raised an amazing family while working hard and achieving her dreams. I loved the grandmother she was for the next generations. I'm sure each kid felt like the favourite. Jessie do you remember your grandma dying her hair for your high school grad?. Thank you Liz much respect.

Dear Wendy, Linda-Sue and all of the family: You are right, Liz was most modest on all her accomplishments. I knew Liz through the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and I admired her through some of the things I knew of her. But wow she sure accomplished a lot in her life, when reading her obituary.
May you all have wonderful memories of Liz and may she rest in peace in heaven until you meet again.
