My Niece spoke at the service it was beyond wonderful
Eulogy for my Mother by Sherrie Fraser ( grand daughter)
What a perfect day for my Mom - what a wonderful service it was....
I am honored to say a few words about my Nana. She was an outgoing and fun-loving
woman who enjoyed the company of her friends and family.
When I think about my Nana the following words come to mind: endurance, resiliency,
devotion, family, religious, loved without condition, and a genuine brilliant ability to
inject humor into her life and into the live;of all whom halthe privilege and honor to
come to know her.
Nana grew up in an era that had tremendous industrial revolutions, that followed with
the rise and fall of our welfare state, a time many of us today can't even begin to
conceive lb it's relevance. A time that women where challenged to maintain a level
dependence, maintain their demands of family, sustain the status quo, expected to due
a double day and caring for their elders.
Nana haC a tremendous devotion to her mother - my great grandmother, caring for her
needTand attending to the heaviness that surrounded her care. Nana in all her
available and attainable power put herself second to the needs of others.
Nana, devoted to Catholicism, to God, and her faith, she was a women that followed -!h6.
bible and the morals that lay within it's very pages.
Nana was a special grandmother, that invested in her grandchildren to the very best of
her capability. lt was the active listening, attending and genuineness that stands out the
most for me, that she expressed and positively influenced my life.
She loved all her children. I especially will miss the laughter, joy, and happiness in her
voice as her daughter Mary and Nana expressed together in the later years of her life. lt
was a bond that was cultivated, nurtured and had come full circle in her life.
I am sanctified to have had my Nana in my life.

Well Eleanor I think today exceeded your expectations especially you being such a humble woman and very fitting with your religious beliefs, the service was beautiful . Sherrie did an amazing eulogy for you and I know you heard it loud and clear she included your love for your family and your love for god. Sherrie painted you with a brush true to color. I got to meet your great grandchildren Emily and Wesley and thought the apple didn't fall from the tree with Sherrie and her children. I felt as if your presence was with us when I spoke to them. I was so happy to see Susan and she expressed her love for you and know she will be alright as I saw her with her daughter and grandchildren and saw the compassion and attentiveness they have for Susan was truly a blessing to watch. Don't worry about Susan she will be fine Your daughter Mary is your caregiver now in your external life she will continue her role as your caregiver. Mary may have decorated your room and now she will decorate your resting place but you my dear Eleanor decorated her heart forever and always. With every breath I have I will watch over your daughter Mary. Love you god bless

Nana,
I am thankful to have met you and known you in the time I did. Although I wish I met you earlier in my life, it was neat and fun to learn where I get my sass from haha and learn about our family. I always looked forward to you're jokes and sassy attitude; you were truly young at heart.
I hope you are resting well and at peace. I will miss you.

Dear family of Eleanor: Please accept my condolences on the passing of your mother and grandmother. I remember Eleanor so clearly from the time she lived in Sutton and went to the Immaculate Conception church here in Sutton. I'm so glad that we will celebrate her funeral Mass here.
May God take her into His Loving Arms and take her to Heaven to be with Him always.

My Dear friend Eleanor,
Wow what a journey you must have had to Paradise on February 9th. 2018. I imagine between family, friends and all the animals you must have been overwhelmed with the reception.
Thank you for your endless support with prayers and asking how I am and my family members. I believe you had healing powers in those prayers as miracles had happened.
Thank you for opening those tins of kitty food for the strays as one of those strays my brother had the pleasure of loving his beloved “Birdie”. I love the prayers you would say about all the animals keeping safe especially in the freezing weather.
Thank you for clipping those coupons for Mary and I. I always got a kick out of you going through the bags and to see what goodies Mary had bought for you. I knew you loved your shepherds pie alot you would say oh good you got the shepherds pie.
Thank you for allowing me to tag along with you and Mary on shopping trips, restaurants, casino and trips by the water. Those were some of the best times in my life, so much fun!!
Thank you for our talks your wisdom and sound advice, the courage you displayed. You showed me not to be afraid and be courageous too. You were a true Mentor.
Thank you for the endless laughs. I loved when you would make me laugh so hard my face and stomach would hurt. You would have made a excellent stand up comedian. Your personality is larger than life!!
Thank you for making my mother in law moving into Lakeview Manor in Beaverton a good experience . You assured her that is was a wonderful place to live and they will look after her and she has nothing to worry about.
Thank you so much for giving me my wonderful compassionate friend Mary. It truly was a blessing to have a front row seat to see the special bond between mother and daughter. You both lit up like a Christmas tree when you saw each other. I just loved shopping with Mary and she would be picking you out something pretty for your room or clothes (usually both ). I had the pleasure seeing your face many times when Mary would bring you treasures and snacks. You would have that grin on your face and shrug your shoulders and say I am spoiled and I would say “do you think?” I am so happy she had your back and you had hers.
Thank you for allowing Mary to have that time with you when you were preparing for your journey and went on your way. I was worried she was going to be there alone and was so thankful to learn your Granddaughter Sherrie was there with you both too.
Eleanor can you watch over Mary I know if you send her some signs she will know it was from you.
Until we meet again in Paradise remember I am sending Love forever and always...... Brenda
P.S Happy Valentine's Day I hope you see the hearts at Lakeview Manor over the fireplace in your honor.

I had the pleasure of meeting and having a few long conversations with Eleanor
in the years past, and I can honestly say that she was one strong and sincere lady.
Another certainty about Eleanor, is that she was very grateful for Mary (her daughter) and said that she showed great constance in her life, and made her senior years comfortable and peaceful.
Rest in peace, 'Mary's Mom"........you will always be treasured, in this world...

Sherry, I came with you once to meet your Nana and she was a wonderful full of life person. She had stories and cute little jokes that she told us, and you also reminded her of other stories you remembered for her to tell. I'm sorry for your loss and send my deepest sympathies to you and your Aunt Mary, who you have told me was a rock to your Nana, caring for her for so many years.
May your Nana rest in peace and you and your Aunt Mary know that she is now in heaven enjoying her return to all her friends and family.

I have only known Nana Sherrie's Grandmother for 7 plus years now but right from the first time I meet her it was clear she was a very special lady. Her Humour had a kick to it ! and she expressed how things were as a matter of fact and not beating around the bush as some of do. She had a wonderful strong will and what was best about her was how she could make you laugh and laugh. She was one very special lady who was easy to love. She is with God now and at peace. It was good to have known her.

My name is Sherrie Fraser and I am one of Nana's 3rd our of 5 oldest grandchildren. It is difficult to put into words how much my Nana ( as I called her Nana Banana ) meant to me. She was a strong willed, sassy, quick witted and intelligent woman. She was very devoted to Catholicism and had shear acts resiliency throughout her life. Nana and I had a strong bond as did she with daughter Mary who cared for her in her years of need and age. It was a time of (quid pro qui ) that had fully come full circle.
My Nana loved life; she loved her family, she loved her friends, she loved her pets, she loved a good game of cards, she loved God and most of all she loved being a Sassy Lass. No matter what situation she was presented with, no matter how challenging; she was able to overcome it. My Nana always taught me that no matter what happens in life, if you remain calm, speck up and be positive you could overcome it anything. It was lessons like that, that I will remember and treasure the rest of my life. It is incredible what a smile, humor and kind heart can do.
As long as I can remember my Nana always shared with me the importance of faith. My Nana was a very religious woman and would preach her faith to defend what she truly believed in. She showed me how a belief in God helped shape her life and how it's was often missing in people lives around her.
My grandmother inspired me in a lot of ways and she meant more to me than you can possibly imagine, she touched and imprinted on many lives. Even though my Nana and I didn’t always live in the same town, we remained close. A Nana's love for family, life and God was inspirational to me. I hope that I can live my life with the same honour and respect as she did. I will always remember the time we spent together and love her forever. Its all about you Nana, this is your time, your wishes, your day, and your life - Thank you.

From:
To my Mom: Mom at Xmas I gave you a gold little box – it was a box of Love – It has a note inside for you that read. Mom, God bless you this is a box full of Love that will always be here anytime you want to look inside this little box and hold and feel the Love I have for you. You just have to look in the box and read my heart. I miss you with all my heart. You were everything to me. I was given the most wonderful gift being with you right to the end as you took your last breath and walked straight into Heaven with your Grand daughter ( Sherrie) also at your side. I thought i would be alone with you and you told me :"Mary" please don't let me die alone. Mom no one can ever take that moment away from us that we had with you. Its a true gift of love and a rare blessing. I laid my head down to rest a bit and a huge chill woke me I knew as i ran from the lounge room to the hospital room. Thank you for saying "wake up Mary" its time. Within minutes you were out of pain and in God's arms. I love you as big as the sky. Our journey together was an unconditional love we shared, I miss my call to you so much at night as I would say good night Mom, God bless and I love you. You would say the same back and add thank you for everything you do. Mom, you will always be with me we shared so much together and with all my heart I miss you until we meet again. You were my funny "Mommy" and the day before you passed you said " you're a good girl and I love you. Thanks Mom – I love you so much. I am going to give you that box to rest with., You were the best Mom / Nana anyone could have. The best love is always unconditional is what you always gave to everyone! You were finally at peace in your life and happy, yes with some bad days of pain but you did all all things bingo, laughing, casino rama, hotel, concert, playing cards, having friends, sitting by the beach with our picnic, loving people, loving your room and people loving you. You were everything that " Love is" You were Loved! I'm sad for anyone that missed all the love that poured into your Life as you found your way to be happy . Its was the true blessing that you gave my Life.Your strength was endless ..... Mary

The most challenging part when you want to express a condolence is choosing the first words. Writing from the heart so that my expression is genuine and reflects the nature of our relationship that we all had with Nana as individuals as it was a unique, special and cherished one.
I am so sorry Mary for your loss of you Mum/Nana and I want you to know I am thinking of you and what you are going through right now. Please accept my condolences. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you. So many years taking the very best care and giving love to Nana. I hope you find some gentle comfort in knowing you and I were there in her hours of need, and at a time of her passing and up to God. That is a rare and beautiful gift.
My deepest condolences to all who loved Nana and were touched by Nana as I was. May your memories of Nana sustain and strengthen you as you gently navigate the difficult days ahead. May all of us, our hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times with Nana as we celebrate Nana's life. May we all have laughter and spare a good joke to her memory as she used humour and sass to steer though life. Nana wishes were clear and sets an example for us all while cherishing her love for her Catholic embrace: One of her favourite songs- THOUGH THE MOUNTAINS MAY FALL by Dan Schutte - Saint Louis Jesuits: with lyrics
