Zander and Nancy (Snelling) Dunn posted a condolence

We want to express our sadness at Phil's death and to extend our condolences to his family. Unfortunately we do not know his family, except for his brother Mike whom we knew at Queen's. Phil was a great friend to both of us at the Queen's Christian Fellowship away back in the 1950's where he gave leadership and support to all of us. Phil was a friend and a special friend to Nancy who dated him before he graduated from Queen's. We were surprised and pleased when a few months ago we received a letter from Phil in which he told us about himself and inquired about how we were doing. We had not seen Phil for almost 60 years so we were thrilled to hear from him. He sounded well and happy in his retirement and grateful for his family and church home. We hoped that we would be able to visit with Phil in the near future and so we are disappointed by his death. But we are encouraged by our common faith and by the Good News of God's unconquerable love.
We have read some of the condolences and are impressed that Phil always impressed people with his compassion and concern. He was one of God's special servants and we thank God that we knew him. Sincerely, Zander and Nancy (Snelling) Dunn

I am so sorry to hear of Phil's death. Phil was always faithful in the service of his Lord and dedicated to the interests of those for whom he gave pastoral care. He always offered compassion, care, interest, and understanding to everyone. The last time I saw Phil was in the medical building at Markham Stouffville Hospital. I was in the elevator and as the doors were closing Phil walked past and we waved to each other. I remember so clearly his warm smile and bright eyes as the doors closed. I am grateful for his friendship and sorry for your loss. I regret it is not possible for me to attend the Celebration of Life but will celebrate with you in Spirit. May he rest in Peace and Rise in Glory!!
