I called you Johnathan in public, because you wanted to sound grown up, but Johnny in private. You were so handsome and funny, always a fountain of charisma. Blue eyes twinkling with impish charm as you teased and joked with everyone you knew.
I remember one idyllic summer afternoon in the 90's when you had us all in stitches doing impressions of kids and teachers at school. When I think of you, I will always see that big grin, and it reminds me of the joy you brought into this world.

When you lose a child, even if a that child is a grown man, you lose a large part of yourself. When I say my heart is broken I mean in everyway. Johnny you know the sound of my heart from within me, you know I will never be the same. Be at peace my boy until we meet again. I will love you forever and only mend when I can hold you again. Thinking of you Johnathan I remember your funny laugh. It was wonderful. I remember all the questions you had as a little boy. You were so inquisitive. Such a gorgeous child with those big eyes, silky blonde hair and mischievous little smile. We had memories together I will think about often. Suddenly one day you were all grown up and faced some hard times but you always had your big heart and will always have a spot in mine. I hope you are at peace with your Grappa John. You will be missed by this family.

Johnny your laugh and smile could light up a room. You were an enormous personality. You had so much love to give, fiercely loyal and protective of your loved ones. You will be missed so much more than you could ever know.
I miss our days on the docks with fishing rods in our hands. And I feel like we've been robbed of ever having those moments together again. At least I know you'll guide my casts into the water now from up above, and maybe I'll finally catch something.
